DR ATEGBOLE PROMISES TO SUPPORT H.E. Dr. AIYEDATIWA'S EFFORTS TO CURB INSECURITY IN AKOKO...BICC
Bobagunwa Independent Campaign Council through her DG, Dr. Akeredolu O.N. has reiterated Dr Ategbole's readiness to support hunters,Vigilantes, Amotekun Corp, Police force, Military officers and traditional rulers with logic in curbing insecurity to complement governor Aiyedatiwa’s plausible efforts in area of security when he becomes a rep member for Akoko Southwest and Southeast federal constituency in 2027
The issue of insecurity has remained one of the most pressing challenges confronting the Akoko Southeast/Southwest Federal Constituency. From sporadic incidents of banditry to the menace of kidnapping along federal roads, the threat has undermined the peace, prosperity, and freedom of movement for residents. Speaking with deep concern, Dr. Ategbole reiterated that the security challenges in Akoko have not only attracted his attention but also inspired his resolve to provide lasting solutions through a people-centered and locally driven model.
A LOCALIZED SECURITY MODEL WITH STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS
Dr. Ategbole’s vision is rooted in the understanding that security cannot be outsourced—it must begin with the people. His model proposes a hybrid approach that strengthens collaboration between:
1. Constituency Vigilante Groups – leveraging the knowledge of local terrain and community intelligence.
2. Traditional Rulers and Community Leaders – integrating the moral authority of custodians of culture to enhance vigilance and communal unity.
3. State Security Agencies (Police, Amotekun, and Others) – ensuring professional enforcement and swift response when threats arise.
This synergy will provide a framework where locals supply intelligence, vigilantes provide first-line response, and formal security outfits execute enforcement operations, thereby creating a holistic and responsive security architecture.
PROACTIVE MEASURES TO REDUCE SECURITY RISKS
To ensure sustainable peace, Dr. Ategbole will pursue proactive steps that include:
* Community Policing and Intelligence Networks: Establish neighborhood watch cells to serve as intelligence feeders to security agencies.
* Technology-Backed Security: Facilitate the use of communication gadgets, tracking devices, and digital reporting channels to ensure timely alerts.
* Strengthened Vigilante Welfare: Support and incentivize local vigilante groups with stipends, training, and protective gear to boost morale.
* Farm and Road Security Outposts: Create checkpoints and mini-security hubs at vulnerable spots—such as farm clusters and federal highways notorious for abductions.
* Engagement of Youths in Security Volunteering: Channel restless energy into structured programs that empower the youth as partners in peace rather than idle targets for recruitment by criminal gangs.
* Stakeholder Roundtables: Regular dialogue with royal fathers, religious leaders, market women, transport unions, and farmers to anticipate threats and design preventive strategies.
THE EXPECTED GAINS OF A SECURE AKOKO
Dr. Ategbole believes that implementing these measures will deliver remarkable dividends for the constituency:
* Safe Travel within communities and along major federal roads.
* Improved Farming Activities, as farmers will return confidently to their farmlands without fear of attacks.
* A Peaceful Atmosphere, where social and cultural events can thrive without disruption.
* Improved Economic Activities, since traders, artisans, and businesses rely on safety to flourish.
* Restored Investor Confidence, as local and external investors will see Akoko as safe for agribusiness, commerce, and infrastructure projects.
* Stronger Community Cohesion, where collective responsibility for safety deepens unity among residents.
ATEGBOLE'S COMMITMENT: For Dr. Ategbole, security is not just a campaign promise—it is a moral obligation. He envisions an Akoko Southeast/Southwest where no child is afraid to go to school, no farmer is afraid to enter his farm, and no family is afraid to travel through federal roads. Through localized partnerships, innovative approaches, and unwavering political will, he is determined to drastically reduce, and ultimately eliminate, the security menace in the constituency.
With Ategbole’s approach, Akoko will once again become a safe, thriving, and prosperous homeland for all.
