HOW DR. ATEGBOLE RESCUED “MASSES FOR AIYEDATIWA” FROM SHAME IN 2024 – AND WHY BOBAGUNWA 2027 IS A DONE DEAL : Dr. Akeredolu O. N.
When the political atmosphere in Ondo State darkened in 2024, during the turbulence of power struggles between the late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu’s cabals and then-Deputy Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, a group of over 240 associations united under one banner: The Masses for Aiyedatiwa.
The mission was simple but daring — to resist illegality, safeguard democracy, and enthrone a masses-oriented governor who would prioritize the people above cabals.
The group launched a fundraising event at the prestigious Dome in Akure, with the ambitious target of raising ₦100 million. The funds were meant to cover Governor Aiyedatiwa’s nomination form, mass media campaigns, and community charity projects.
But instead of encouragement, what followed was sabotage. Rival groups ensured most invited dignitaries boycotted the event. The hall that should have been filled with support was thinned by betrayal. The morale of the Masses for Aiyedatiwa was at its lowest ebb.
It was at that critical moment that Dr. Victor Ategbole (BOBAGUNWA) made the difference. He not only attended in person but also pledged ₦3 million instantly to the cause. His timely intervention restored hope, dignity, and belief to the struggling movement.
Speaking on that turning point, the group’s progenitor, Dr. Akeredolu O.N. recalls:
> “Dr. Ategbole was different. He stood with us when others turned their backs. His ₦3 million support was not just money, it was encouragement, strength, and validation. He rescued us from shame. We will never forget. That is why in 2027, we are standing solidly with him. Bobagunwa is a done deal.”
Today, as Dr. Ategbole throws his hat into the ring to represent Akoko South West/South East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, the Masses for Aiyedatiwa and their leader Dr. Akeredolu O.N. have pledged unalloyed support. They are volunteering pro-bono media services — with a fully customized blog and Twitter/X handle — to ensure his voice is amplified across the constituency and beyond.
For the grassroots, this support is not just political. It is personal. It is a way of rewarding loyalty, integrity, and commitment to the common man.
With Bobagunwa 2027, the people of Akoko South West/South East are not just electing a representative — they are endorsing a man who once stood by the masses, and who will continue to fight for them in Abuja.
The message is clear: when others walked away, Dr. Ategbole walked in. That is why the people are walking with him now.
